Fiction: Cream, by Haruki Murakami

The narrator tells about an invitation to a piano recital he got when he was 18 years old from a girl he barely knew. As it turned out, the recital didn’t happen and the narrator never found out why. There’s nothing worth getting in this world that you can get easily, says an old man... The fiction was published last January by The New Yorker.
