You don’t have to get an address through a domiciliation centre. You can be domiciled and use the mailing address of an acquaintance or a relative you trust if this situation is to last for long and if you don’t have to pay for it, and if several other people aren’t already using this address as well. Besides, anyone who provides a home or an address to an asylum seeker has never had to deal with the police.
How can I be domiciled at an acquaintance or relative’s address ?
The host must make sure to have or make :
- a « hosting certificate » (called « attestation de domiciliation » in French), which is a simple letter with their address and signature on it
- a photocopy of their ID
- a photocopy of their last electricity bill with their name on it (less than 3 months)
