Netflix will release on March 15 its doc series about the soon famous Outreau case.
We, whild defenders, are so scared that this series would be pro abusers and against victim children, as almost all french medias reported the case years ago (having shared the trial benches with the pedophiles' lawyers). For example last year France 2, main public channel, aired a mixed documentary/fiction about the case giving 92% of screen time for the acquitted adults vs 8% for the victim children, and Jonathan Delay, one of the children, called for a Boycott of the series, his word not having been respected...
The first series trailer from Netflix scares us so much :
Will the series silence once again the children ?
The problem is that this trailer focuses solely on one woman: Myriam Badaoui, the mother of the 4 children who launched the affair by denouncing the abuse suffered.
She became the scapegoat for the case when the defense lawyers decided to make her a manipulative lady who invented everything, after she said she made it all up, and although she subsequently contradicted herself, giving Myriam a much more important place than what she really has in the substance of the file.
Although she is not innocent in the case, and participated in the abuse, it seems that she was also victim of violence by her husband Thierry Delay, stepfather of her children, the man through whom the misfortune happened.
Being a woman, Algerian (her name has an arabic sound) and big (watch the grossophobic defense lawyer do it again with his arms in the clip), she was the victim of a vast smear campaign, which harmed the twelve children recognized as victims.
Racism, misogyny and fatphobia in the spotlight!
The acquitted lawyers managed to make it appear that the entire case rested on her statements. Which is absolutely false, as for each of the 17 accused there were multiple denunciations and confessions available in the file (ans several acquitted confessed). But the numerical superiority of the defense and their acquaintance with journalists allowed them to win the media and legal battle. Actually the file was so thick that the journalists analyzed it through the elements communicated by the defense.
This first extract would therefore suggest that Netflix has once again decided to focus the series on the experiences and elements provided by the defense of pedophiles.
Could this be an expressly provocative extract to mislead viewers and provoke twists and turns in the series? We have to hope so but it is such a far-fetched choice that we can strongly doubt it…
you only need to look a little deeper into the file to realize that the file proving the existence of a pedophile network is not based on the statements of Myriam Badaoui. So goes Alain Marécaux, the most famous of the acquitted victims, having been compensated one million euros for his three years of incarceration. some evidence on this blog.
