Letter to the US ambassador to the UN

History will judge Linda Thomas-Greenfield over her record on Gaza massacres and Israeli made famine. She finally abstained letting a Resolution 2728 (2024) asking for an immediate cease-fire pass.

Dear ambassador Thomas-Greenfield,

Following your abstention on UNSC resolution 2728 (2024) you must be very proud of what you accomplished.

13 000 dead Palestinian children beg to differ. You shamelessly abstained and called the resolution non binding proving that you still support Israel ongoing massacre and famine mongering in Gaza.

Do not fool yourself into thinking you are being fair and noble. You are not. Everybody can see that the US has supported Israel while it commits crimes against humanity. Your pitiful play at the council, putting the blame on China and Russia and lying about their positions, which, this time, are correct and in line with international law. Your lapsus identifying Hamas and Gaza. Your claim that "there are things that you do not support" in the resolution you successfully watered down, without being able to pinpoint those "things". Your saying that you would be working towards a ceasefire but were not there yet, minutes after the council's resolution demanded  an immediate cease fire. Your calling the resolution non-binding, again moment after it was passed even though you very well know it is binding. All this is despicable. It is shameful but I do not believe you are ashamed of yourself. Not ashamed enough anyway. Because for almost six months now, you've been permitting a great crime against humanity to continue. You have given Israel the diplomatic leeway to massacre and starve the children and civilians of Gaza while your administration was giving the Israeli army the bombs, shells and ammunition to commit these very crimes.

There is a well established principle in international law (at least since Eichmann’s trial) that following orders does not exonerates one from their responsibility. History will judge you with that in mind and will find you guilty of complicity of war crimes. Maybe not legally guilty but morally guilty as an accessory to commit these massive terrible crimes. The "I was following orders" defence or the "somebody else would that done it anyway" defence are not admissible in Law nor are they in History.

If you'd been a decent human being you would have resigned long ago. You did not and History will not forgive you.  You will forever carry the burden of your unconscionable acts as US ambassador. You will forever have that Palestinian children blood on your hands.
