To strengthen the TEPCO Group's foundation of sustainable growth, we will challenge ourselves to making constant cost reduction efforts while upkeeping existing facilities in good condition.
We expect an increase in capital investment and costs for maintaining the soundness of facilities over the medium to long term, but we will contain future costs to around the same level as the average level during the period covered by Management Vision 2010 (FY2004 - FY2010).
Business efficiency improvement of the entire Group
To steadily implement capital investments with a view to achieving sustainable growth, we will reduce costs to the greatest extent possible by applying the innovative efforts and technical knowledge we have cultivated to date.
We will promote effective cost reduction measures by visualizing the results of business efficiency improvement, including the visualization of internal cost per unit* targets in each department, in consideration of the characteristics and causes of costs that change in relation to power sales and fixed costs.
* Construction cost per facility (km, kW), unit cost per operation (contract).
We will accelerate the cost reduction efforts of the Group as a whole by sharing targets within the Group, promoting further improvement in business processes, and rationalizing and standardizing specifications, based on an analysis of the cost structure of Group companies and benchmark comparisons with same-sector companies.
Curb cost to around the same level by compensating for increased costs with improved nuclear power plant performance, etc...........
