In our modern times, it all begins with a video. Which was in our case posted on the movie studio Connan's YouTube channel for Kerziot's trailer. At first glance, the video looks like a standard horror movie advertisement: creepy background music, mysterious title, and frightening images. But we immediately feel something's weird, unusual, and indeed captivating. Let's be honest: I personally felt really uncomfortable watching the 2-minute-long trailer. And it was even before I read the "not a story, reality" label in the video description.
As I don't like purely theoretical analysis, let's take a few examples based on actual screenshots from the movie trailer itself. And because I'm not trying to confuse anyone here, I will stick to a chronological order.

This first screenshot is maybe the least interesting one, but I wanted to show it anyway to give a little bit of context. This is the main house where the movie actually takes place, and while it could be any country home, it's not. Indeed, if we look on Google Maps, for instance, we can see the house is effectively located in the village of Kerziot, in the French department of Côtes d'Amor. This is not a random house. We see it again during the trailer from different camera angles and we can therefore confirm most of the footage was actually shot there.

This second screenshot is shown at the beginning of the trailer and is intrinsically creepy, but what else? Yes, this one could be in any horror movie, and I personally think it's shown in that purpose. That's what the video trailer is always doing: trying to confuse us. The feature is marketed as a standard horror movie, therefore it needs to put something familiar in front of us. But what follows is not familiar AT ALL.

There it's starting to be even more interesting. The movie, or should we say footage, very often shows light phenomena, which seem to be the primary paranormal activities that caused the local exodus. The trailer already shows many types of those unfamiliar images, to say the least. Here, we see some kind of circle, but many other pictures are showing other form aspects. Of course, those could be created artificially, but we know this is exactly what the inhabitants described when they explained the "unusual phenomena" they were reportedly experiencing in the village, for several consecutive days.

If this one is effectively from real footage, that is certainly one of the weirdest image I've ever seen in my life. The camera is apparently located near a bed and someone -or something- is crossing the screen from left to right. What is probably the most frightening fact is that the poor quality of the footage clearly indicates no green background was involved in any kind of visual effects, which are known to require a strong amount of light. This is necessarily "home-made" or, and it seems plausible, just paranormal. Not only because the character's face looks bizarre, but especially because his walk and attitude is totally unhuman. Who can move like this, honestly? Maybe an animal, but not with that height.

This is anoter paranormal (or unfamiliar, if you prefer) light phenomenon. And that's also why I decided to write this commentary in the first place. Unlike the previous light form, this is totally new, and special. Not immediately scary, but absolutely NOT usual. No one can experience that type of light even during an eclipse. And again, these are the kinds of forms the Kerziot's inhabitants reportedly have seen in the village. Let's face it: they're not easy to describe! Of course, we don't have enough material to confirm those images unequivocally show something surnatural, but I really think it's at least disturbing. And I don't know exactly why, but it looks true. Authentic. Untouched.

Here is again an image of the house, at night, with the front door wide open. Nothing special? Not exactly. On the right, the light bar indicates something unusual, and doesn't look or feel fabricated. Of course, this could have been re-shot during the shooting -if a shooting actually took place the normal way- but it doesn't really matter after all. My personal opinion is that something really NOT normal did happen in Kerziot, I don't know when, and then Connan studio decided to make a movie about the event, and the paranormal phenomena actually happened during the shooting... which is, as for me, an even more frightening hypothesis. This could explain why most of the film crew reportedly have died during post-production...

This picture is not scary or special in itself, it was apparently shot from inside the house and shows a window -which corresponds to the one we see before- at the first floor. What is more fascinating -in a horrible way, I admit-is that someone reportedly has thrown himself out of that particular window. And that person is still missing in reality. Strange? Well, if this is not, then I wouldn't be surprised at seeing Louis XIV in my own kitchen on a Monday morning.

Agrandissement : Illustration 8

This is a picture of the lead actor, holding some sort of big candle. OK, why not. It could be an image from Blair Witch, nothing new here. Except that lead actor reportedly has disappeared during post-production and is now actively sought. Maybe it's just a sad coincidence... maybe it's something else we don't want to accept because it's too horrible.

Agrandissement : Illustration 9

This is another bizarre light form which doesn't just "look" surnatural, it corresponds to what the village's inhabitants would have seen before fleeing their homes. Well, I would probably do the same if I had seen something like this in my bedroom! I don't know any light that could be able to produce that kind of forms, especially at night where the scene apparently took place.

This is the last screenshot from the movie trailer I wanted to put here. It was apparently taken inside the house and shows again but a bit differently some sort of circle, with a lot of light around it. What strikes me is the repetition: it's always possible to record one single "weird" image, there's a lot of them on the internet, we all know that. But what about multiple ones? What about dozens of unusual/unfamiliar images corroborated by several local inhabitants? Are all these people crazy? That's a lot of crazy persons in the same tiny place... Do we really need more info to understand we have a terrifying story right under our noses? I let you decide.
