PAKTIKA, June 9 – An Afghan soldier in joint military base turned his gun on American troops gathered in their redoubt in Khair Kot district of Paktika province. The Afghan squeezed the trigger rapidly and began blazing away at the American, firing as many shot as quickly as he could without spoiling his aim. The rapid bursts punched holes in the foreheads and chests of the invaders. Soon 7 American or some form other allied countries’ nationals were down. A number of the foreign troops were wounded.
Shortly after several bursts by the Afghan attacker, he was shot and martyred by the Americans in counterattack. Two puppets were killed in the US fire.
It is latest in the series of infiltrators or Afghan civilians’ attacks on the US-NATO and allied forces over the past 24 hours. On Friday a Mujahid infiltrating police shot and killed 6 puppet police. On the same an Afghan boy of 11 hurled hand grenade at the Italians, leaving 1 Italian invader dead and three others wounded.
