KABUL, June 25 – Tuesday’s martyrdom attack hitting the most heavily-fortified strategic points at the heart of Afghan capital early this morning that includes Arg [presidential palace], the ministry of defense, the Ariana hotel used as a CIA headquarter, the U.S. Embassy and the headquarters for the NATO-led coalition invading forces ended after hours of fighting at about 9:30 a.m. this morning, said the Al-Emara  spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid.

A group of eight Mujahideen combatants, Shamsullah and Omar coming from Wardak province, Muhammad Siddiq and Niyazmin from Paktika and Paktia provinces, Naseer Ahmad andShafiullah from Kabul province and Muhammad Kabeer and Qadir Khan from Khost province, equipped with rifles, machine guns, RPGs, hand grenades, explosives & other equipment stormed Ariana hotel at about 6:00 a.m. to strike the CIA headquarter, the primary target of the operation. Once Mujahideen fighters manged to reach inside they took positions and opened fire on the spy agents including two US generals killing and wounding a number of them. The operation initiated as soon asMujahideen blew up an explosive-packed car parked outside Ariana hotel that blasted out a large part of the hotel and security barriers.

Meantime, the fighting was continuing at the gate of the Arg [presidential palace], and in the inner area of the Palace, the ministry of defense and the martyrdom-seeking Mujahideen carried out a number of large explosions that were heard across the city and smoke was rising from the palace and other buildings. The martyr attackers exchanged gunfire with coalition and puppet forces for roughly three hours, killing scores of the foreign invaders and the internal puppet security forces.
