Se perdre en permanence dans des conjectures fantaisistes et des arguties purement protocolaires pour nier cette triste réalité camerounaise au-delà de la sphère strictement politique et institutionnelle, n’aide absolument pas à retisser le vivre ensemble dans ce pays, mais à le distendre pour le rompre à jamais.
Il va sans dire que ce que le professeur Mbembe appelle « la fixation sur le peuple bamiléké et l’éviction du professeur Kamto de la course à la présidence » dépasse en réalité la question bamiléké. Le véritable enjeu ici est la décolonisation et les droits humains, et cela nous concerne tous. Aucun Camerounais ordinaire n’est à l’abri du régime de Biya tant qu’une véritable décolonisation de l’État camerounais n’aura pas été réalisée.
En effet, nous pouvons affirmer que la majorité des prisonniers politiques reconnus par notre organisation sont issus de l’ethnie du président, un fait dont le président de notre organisation a été témoin et dont il continue de porter les stigmates. Ainsi, ce que le professeur Mbembe appelle « fixation » nous concerne tous, que nous soyons bamilékés ou non.
Cette « fixation » montre que la décolonisation est une lutte toujours contestée et non réglée, comme le régime de Biya veut nous le faire croire. Dans cette lutte permanente, nous n’avons pas besoin du spectacle public de la recherche de boucs émissaires et de la guerre ethno-fasciste de tous contre tous, mais plutôt de parvenir à un contrat social plus démocratique et à une union démocratique plus parfaite, sachant que la responsabilité éthique va de pair avec notre liberté existentielle.

This has the merit of clarity and candor.
Constantly losing oneself in fanciful conjectures and purely formal quibbles to deny this sad Cameroonian reality beyond the strictly political and institutional sphere does absolutely nothing to help rebuild coexistence in this country, but rather to weaken it and destroy it forever.
It goes without saying that what Professor Mbembe calls « the fixation on the Bamileke people and the ousting of Professor Kamto from the presidential race » actually goes beyond the Bamileke issue. The real issue here is decolonization and human rights, and this concerns us all. No ordinary Cameroonian is safe from the Biya regime until a true decolonization of the Cameroonian state is achieved. Indeed, we can affirm that the majority of political prisoners recognized by our organization are from the president’s ethnic group, a fact that the president of our organization has witnessed and continues to bear the scars of. Thus, what Professor Mbembe calls « fixation » concerns us all, whether we are Bamileke or not.
This “fixation” shows that the work of decolonization is a struggle that is always contested and not settled as the Biya’s regime wants us to believe. This, in this ongoing struggle, we do not need the public spectacle of scapegoating and ethno-fascist war of all against all but how to achieve a more democratic social contract and a more perfect democratic union knowing that ethical accountability goes hands in hands with our existential freedom.
