Quand Parler Devient Trop
Il n’était pas exagéré de penser que cette cérémonie de remise des Oscars (2025), organisée dans un contexte de politique de la terre brûlée de Donald Trump, serait l’occasion d’une démonstration ardente de résistance artistique de la part de Hollywood. En effet, cela ne fait que quelques jours depuis l’agression de Volodymyr Zelenskyy par Trump et JD Vance dans le Bureau Ovale. Le monde occidental s’est peut-être fracturé. Le ministère de l’Efficacité gouvernementale d’Elon Musk est en pleine délire.
À part Daryl Hannah qui a brièvement exprimé son soutien à l'Ukraine; Zoe Saldaña a fait de même pour les communautés immigrées aux États-Unis, de No Other Land, qui a remporté le prix du meilleur long métrage documentaire et qui dépeint la politique étrangère américaine comme bloquant la voie à une solution politique au Moyen-Orient. Il ne s’est pas passé grand-chose.
Cette soirée des Oscars 2025 nous intéresse car, en tant qu'organisation de défense des droits de l'homme, on nous a souvent reproché de trop parler, notamment la notion de capitulation à laquelle nous devons faire face.
Personne n’a tiré directement sur le feyman parce que à Hollywood comme ailleurs, les gens ont peur, non seulement parce que Trump est mesquin et vindicatif, mais aussi parce que la grande incertitude du monde dans lequel nous nous trouvons soudainement plongé peut rendre un silence judicieux plus instructif que des discours.
Nous ne sommes donc plus les seuls à nous poser la question de savoir quand parler devient trop?
Cela a probablement plus à voir avec le fait que Trump a été de nouveau élu. La première fois, il était nouveau, repoussant et choquant. Mais les États-Unis ont déjà vécu un mandat avec lui, puis la prise du Capitole, puis des procès, des scandales et des infractions sans fin – et ils ont quand même voté pour lui une seconde fois.
Aucune indignation ou avertissement de célébrité n’a fonctionné auparavant – pourquoi cela fonctionnerait-il maintenant ? Il n'y a rien de nouveau à dire.
Au CL2P/ICL2P, nous plaçons tout cela au cœur de la confrontation entre le peuple et l’élite. La réalité est que Trump et son acolyte Vance font partie d’une mainmise de l’élite sur l’État, soutenue par les oligarques, même si leur propagande les qualifie de « populistes ». Donc peu importe ce que pensent les élites aujourd’hui, elles sont toutes complices de ce spectacle d’horreur. Ce seront les gens ordinaires qui renverseront Trump, y compris ceux qui lui faisaient autrefois confiance. Ils sont allés trop loin et trop vite dans l’indignation pour que des êtres humains honnêtes puissent les supporter indéfiniment.
La peur et le fascisme seront vaincus.

When Speaking is too Much
It was not an exaggeration to think that this Oscars ceremony (2025), organized in a context of Donald Trump's scorched earth policy, would be the occasion for an ardent demonstration of artistic resistance on the part of Hollywood. Indeed, it has only been a few days since Trump and JD Vance attacked Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. The Western world may have fractured. Elon Musk’s Department of Government Effectiveness is in complete delirium.
Aside, Daryl Hannah who briefly expressed his support for Ukraine; Zoe Saldaña is doing the same for immigrant communities in the United States, the makers of No Other Land, which won best feature documentary, which portrayed US foreign policy as blocking the path to a political solution in the Middle East, there was nothing explosive.
This evening of the 2025 Oscars interests us because, as a human rights organization, we have often been criticized for talking too much, particularly the notion of capitulation that we must face.
No one took a shot at the feyman directly because in Hollywood as elsewhere, people are afraid, not only because Trump is petty and vindictive, but also because the great uncertainty of the world we suddenly find ourselves in can make judicious silence more judicious than speeches.
So, we are no longer the only ones to ask ourselves the question of when talking becomes too much
It probably has more to do with the fact that Trump was elected again. The first time it was new, repulsive and shocking. But the United States has already lived through one term with him, then the storming of the Capitol, then endless trials, scandals and infractions – and they still voted for him a second time.
No celebrity outrage or warning has worked before – why would it work now? There is nothing new
At the CL2P/ICL2P, however, we believe that this lies at the heart of the confrontation between the people and the elite. The reality is that Trump and his sidekick Vance are part of an elite takeover of the state, supported by the oligarchs, even if their propaganda calls them “populists.” So, no matter what the elites think today, they are all complicit in this horror show. It will be ordinary people who unseat Trump, including those who once trusted him. They have gone too far and too fast in outrage for decent human beings to bear.
Fear and fascism will be defeated.
