A democratic congressman Al Green calls for Donald Trump's impeachment from the floor of the House.
Al Green, of Texas, told fellow representatives in Congress:"This is where I stand. I will not be moved. The President must be empeached" he said.
Al Green is the first lawmaker to officially call for Congress to impeach President Donald Trump on Wednesday, telling the House of Representatives he "will not be moved".
The standards for impeachment are established by Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution:
"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the
United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and
Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors"
"I rise today..to call for the impeachment of the President of the United States of American for obstruction of Justice", said Al Green.
"I do not do this for political purposes," Green said in remarks directed to House Speaker Paul Ryan. "I do it because, Mr. Speaker, there is a belief in this country that no one is above the law, and that includes the President of the United States of America "
