He was speaking about Denmark and Greenland. As usual he has history totally wrong. His revisionism is hardly new. But the quote is a good reminder that European and WASP rule is fairly recent in the land he presides over.
Among others, his ICE militia is hunting down people they consider as ethnically "latina". Most of these targeted Americans descend at least partly from inhabitants of the Continent that where on the land long before boats unloaded European colons. Trump and most Trumpists consider white Americans that identify themselves as European descendants as the only legitimate owners of Land. Long before their purported ancestors knew of America, the Continent was inhabited by people whose descendants are among the very persons target by ICE and Trump.
Maybe they could remind Trump and his racist groupies that
