My mission at CCIF has come to an end after an intense year in view of the sad state of affairs and the damage being caused in our society by the normalisation of racism and the growing number of terrorist attacks which are being confronted with cynicism by “our elites”.

Along with many other human rights activisits, researchers and civil society actors, I will be in London to bring forward our work against islamophobia and state violations of civil liberties. It will also be an opportunity to connect the dots between human rights organisations on both sides of the Channel.

Despite official statements urging not to conflate Muslims with terrorists, the French Muslim community has implicitly been held responsible for the attacks. Nearly 3400 raids have been carried out, the overwhelming majority of which were against Muslims. These raids were too often characterised by brutality and readiness to humiliate people in their homes, businesses and mosques.
